LASER ENGRAVING / FROM £50

Whether it’s a meaningful date, name or phrase you’d like to see on your jewellery, we have the ability to turn your engraving ideas into inscribed reality. Using the latest in laser-engraving technology we can mark a variety of metals and materials in a selection of attractive fonts to achieve the personalisation you’re after.

PLATING / FROM £50

Looking to add a different colour or a little extra durability to your piece? With precision electroplating we can deposit a thin layer of gold or rhodium onto the surface of your jewellery and add years to its life. Even if it’s a simple brass, copper or silver piece that you’d like to give a new lease of life to, plating is a much more affordable way of obtaining the look and feel of solid gold, but without the hefty price tag.

All gold plated Roderick Vere items are plated with a minimum of 2 microns* of hardened 22ct yellow gold for durability and finish.

*1 micron = 0.001 mm

HALLMARKING / FROM £30

A ’hallmark’ is a series of marks applied to finished pieces of jewellery made from platinum, gold, palladium or silver. It is your way of telling that your piece of jewellery reaches a set standard of purity and (depending on the weight of the item), is a legal requirement to have it tested and hallmarked before it can be sold.

The Roderick Vere maker's mark (also known as sponsor's mark) is registered at the assay office at Goldsmith's Hall in London and all of Roderick Vere’s hallmarked pieces carry marks similar to those shown below:

(From left to right: the Roderick Vere 'RV' sponsor's mark; the traditional fineness mark; the millesimal fineness mark for 18ct gold; the London assay office leopard's head and the date letter).

FAIRTRADE GOLD / £POA

Fairtrade Certified Gold is the world's first independent ethical certification system for gold. By requesting your jewellery is made with Fairtrade Gold, you ensure small-scale and artisanal miners are paid a fair price. Miners also receive an extra sum of money to invest in education, medical care or environmental projects – helping to build a sustainable future for their families and their communities.

Roderick Vere is proud to be an ambassador for Fairtrade Gold and by request can ensure your jewellery is made with respect for those that brought it out of the earth. Click on the Fairtrade logo for further information.

REWORKING / £POA

Have an old piece of jewellery that has sentimental value, but is not of a design you particularly like? ‘Reworking’ is the process by which we take the best assets of an existing piece of jewellery to design and create a new one that is more in keeping with your unique style.
