COVID-19
Updated 7th January 2021.
As the UK finds itself in yet another national lockdown, we at Roderick Vere are slowly looking ahead to what our programme of both regularly scheduled and private workshops will look like for the rest of the year. We’ve compiled this Covid-19 compliance statement to outline our plan of adherence to government guidelines as well as inform you of our venue specific adjustments for post-lockdown workshops. If anything is unclear or you wish to discuss a point in further detail, please get in touch via the contact page, email us on roderick@roderickvere.com or give us a call on +44(0)7717723134.
Unless stated otherwise:
Private workshops at the Roderick Vere studio in Somerset will recommence in February 2021 or after the current lockdown (whichever comes last) where appropriate and at all times in adherence to government guidelines. If you have a private workshop booked, we will be in touch shortly to provide further information.
Private workshops at third-party venues, including client homes, will not take place until a) government guidelines remove social distancing measures completely or b) Roderick Vere is able to complete a risk assessment and deems the venue suitable.
Regularly scheduled Somerset workshops will recommence in February 2021 or after the current lockdown (whichever comes last) where appropriate and at all times in adherence to government guidelines. If you are booked on to one of Somerset workshops, we will be in touch shorty to provide further information.
Regularly scheduled London workshops will recommence in March 2021 or after the current lockdown (whichever comes last) where appropriate and at all times in adherence to government guidelines. If you are booked on to one of London workshops, we will be in touch shorty to provide further information.
As can be expected from working within close proximity of other people, there is an additional ‘assumed’ risk that shall be applied to all of our workshops. As well as the usual safety briefing regarding working with sharp tools and high temperatures, each workshop will commence with extra guidance on social distancing, toilet facilities and the additional hygiene procedures in place, including (but not limited to):
Upon arrival, attendees will be expected to use the hand sanitiser provided before handling any tools or equipment.
Tools and equipment will be cleaned before use and allocated to individuals for their sole use.
Any tools or equipment that require sharing shall be thoroughly cleaned between each use. In addition, tools, pieces of work and anything that would normally have been handed person-to-person will now be handed over using designated collection points.
Seating will be arranged such that individuals or groups from different households shall not be facing each other. Where this is not possible, a distance between individuals of at least 2m will be enforced throughout.
Roderick Vere (or anyone working for Roderick Vere) shall wear a face shield throughout the entire workshop.
Attendees will be required to bring and wear their own face mask/face covering throughout the workshop. The facilitator reserves the right to refuse entry to any attendee that fails to produce a face mask/covering upon arrival.
Snacks and refreshments will not be provided. Please bring anything you require with you and please take all rubbish home with you after the workshop.
In the very unlikely event of an accident or injury, the workshop facilitator will, where applicable, ask the injured party if they would like to receive first aid before administering it. An accident form will require completion and the injured party will be asked to provide a statement and signature for insurance purposes.
It goes without saying that you of course have the right to cancel your booking at any time. If for whatever reason you feel you are unable to adhere to the above guidelines, we ask that you get in touch to highlight any issues you might have so that we can resolve them together. We very much looking forward to getting back to teaching so all we ask is for a little more patience as we figure it all out!
Best wishes and stay healthy,
Roderick Vere
